For the January installment of the Sustainability Series, Energy Conservation Works will welcome Professor Rob Davies, of Utah State University, to the main stage at the Center for the Arts. Davies will present on the level of action and commitment necessary to respond successfully to the global climate emergency. According to Davies, his talk will acknowledge that ‘(w)e exist in a state of planetary emergency.’ but that, ‘(w)e have what we need to build a sustainable, just, and vibrant space for humanity. With courage and resolve, we stand on the edge of extraordinary achievement.’
This event will be FREE, beginning with a social hour and refreshments from 5 pm to 6 pm, with the program to follow. The evening will feature ECW and other community partners and organizations with local climate, energy, and emissions-related programming. These partners will share immediately actionable steps to decrease one’s footprint during the social hour preceding the talk and as well as during the program. The list of actions will be compiled into a list of New Year’s Climate ‘Resolutions’
